Florence and the Machine is re-releasing the song “Dog Days Are Over” on March 22nd. The song is the opening track for her debut album, Lungs, and was the albums 2nd single when it was released in December of 2008. The re-release includes a brand new music video.
“Dog Days Are Over” is one of the standout tracks from the album Lungs. It has a great indie/pop feel to it. It is one of the catchier songs on the album, and is an instant classic. It is a great song to open the album with, but there are other songs on the album that showcase Florence and the Machine’s vocal strengths and talents.
The music video is really out there, but I expect that from Florence and The Machine. It don’t know if it was what I envisioned when I first heard the song, but it works. I like that she is having fun in the video, and the makeup is pretty interesting. Well done.
Here is the earlier video:
Lungs is a great album, and although it has been success in the UK charts, hopefully the re-release of “Dog Days Are Over” will further catapult the album and garner her the success and accolades she deserves.
